"Oops" Dryfired my new Phoenix

Post by Grayarrow »

Don't ask me how I did such a stupid thing, I just did it. The limbs held together, just the string came off, restrung bow and it shot fine. Lucky me and thanks to Excalibur for building one tough bow.

You're not alone. Just make sure you check the limbs, string and screws carefully. If you have DB bars on your bow check to make sure they haven't bent.

Don't feel bad, I did the same dam thing, my string came off also. Only one of my DB bars are bent, but only slightly. Good thing I was the only one at the range that day, it would of been major embarassing. Now if that'd a been a compound Xbow...........................

Gary, you went and did it now. The last time I bragged about how long my strings last, it wasn't long after that one bit the dust.

You'll have to be careful now.

It happened to my buddy yesterday with his Exocet. The only ill effect is that he has to get his serving replaced.

And he better check his DP bars if it has them, most dry fires and busted strings will let the limbs go forward enough to bend one or both bars.... :D Image
