I am buying my Max without the scope, but I might be able to afford the scope in a month or so if I "scrape the bottom of the pot". Is the scope really necessary? Does it improve accuracy that much? Does it make shooting easier in low-light situations?
I own the Pheonix and the Vixen.... I shoot the Pheonix though I'm either selling the Vixen to my dad or my buddy. Anywhoodles.... I don't have a scope on either one. BUT, if I get the money I am definately putting a scope on the Pheonix! After looking through some of the scopes I definately want one now cuz of the view you get through it. Much better than the view through the fibre optic sights. A little extra zoom too
Does Excalibur still sell the adjustable vari zone? I have recently seen a scope advertised as the Vari zone, but it doesn't seem to have the adjustment ring.
I have found the Excalibur bows to be so accurate that you don't realize their full potential without an Excalibur crossbow scope. That's my experience.
If you don't want to spring for the 120 dollar or so varizone scope, us Alabama folks have to use a red dot scope. About 50 dollars and works great. But if they would let us use a magnified scope the varizone would be what I would have.
Thats Right!!
