These Sonic Broadheads are the most fantastic broadheads i have ever shot and i have shot a lot of them. They wer punching the same exact same holes as my field points at 40 yards. I figured i would find out how tough they were, so shot 1 of them into a an old oil drum i had. Punched a hole clean thru and no damage at all to the Broadhead. I'm sold, going to buy a couple of dozen more. Hope to se how they perform on Elk shortly.

I choose the 85gr over the 75/100gr because the 85/125gr sonics have the 1" cut. The 75/100gr sonics have the smaller cut but still should be just fine. Several guys around town have been using the 100gr sonics for wild hogs and have been having great luck this summer. One guy I talked to this last weekend at the hunting store has taken 8 wild hogs the last month with the sonic 100gr all dead in 30-70 yards and heavy blood trails. The smaller cut does not seem to be hurting those hogs any less.

Quicker kill, more of a blood trail. And if you for whatever reason get a less than perfect hit it gives you a little more chance of a kill. I've always used a bigger head with the compound. I guess it's just a carry over from that. I feel confident with a 1 1/2 blade or so.X-BowMan wrote:Why big-bird? The smaller the diameter the deeper the penetration. If you hit them in the sweet spot it does NOT matter. The Sonics are awesome!
