All the Excals use the same string length. I usually make my strings just under 36" and twist to adjust length. I get a little more speed with the string at about the line that is 1" back from the riser, but it's smoother & quieter with the string about 1/4" behind the line (1 1/4" brace height).

vixen string

Appreciate the info fellows! Just rec'd my Vixen but one end of the flemish string did not have a loop! Added a loop and twisted to your legnth/brace height and gave her a go...fantastic/fast! Two shots and my string had already stretch out some though.
Am considering fast flight string...but how do I tell if my prod tips are molded or carved?? Sorry to keep bugging you guys with what is probably 2nd nature to you, but crossbowing is totally new to me. Thanks in advance, DWT

OK- I know I'm being a pain where a pill can't reach, but...Tried using the included cocking aid. Put the hooks on the string on each side of the riser, pulled it back and managed to catch the cocking string but not the crossbow string??!! how DOES this gadget work???

Thank you Sir! Looks like I have the skinny carved tips...no fast flight! The way that arrow sizzles though, I don't see a problem. Appeciate you. Go Pack!!

this is the mag or molded tip, if it doesn't look like this, don't use fast flight strings or the limbs will blow on you.

Thats what I do with my cocking aid too, and it doesn't get lost that way either
