opening wkend!

Post by mike41 »

Well this was opening wkend for me, got to doghouse about 1:30 pm. sat about 6:45 I look to my left and there is a nice doe about 25yds. and coming my way. She walked straight in front of my blind and gave me a perfect broadside at about 18 yds. I don't know why but the the 1st thing that came to my mind, was not only where was I going to hit her but where was it going to come out. I know I read that on this site, so I want to thank you guys for making me more aware of my shot placement, I got a nice double lung hit, she ran about 25/30yds. and folded up.

I know alot of you guys are probabilily Buck hunters, but as I said in a earlyer post I like 1 for the freezer, and I still have another tag so I can hunt the rest of the season, and if I'm lucky who knows.

Congrats Mike.... have a steak for me. I'm heading out at noon tomorrow when I get up from working night shift, to restock my baits sites. I'm like most other people on here, can't hunt till Oct. 01

I can wait, but its going to HURT.

Congrats Mike. The season has been in here for a week. Seen plenty of deer just none in range. If a doe walks out I will shoot as well. Remember one thing Buck or Doe, A trophy is in the eye of the beholder. My first crossbow kill would make me proud if it was a doe that was a clean ethical kill like yours. I have a buck here that I shot a couple of years back with 153 inches of horn hanging on the wall. I haven't found a way to cook those horns yet. Congrats again

Way to go Mike 41. Nice shooting. I'd take a doe anyday of the week. They're all the same on the BBQ.
