Congrats Franklin...

What did you have to do to get the FWC permit to use a crossbow during archery season? I would love to use mine but haven't talked to anybody about it...

I did reply to the FWC panel questionnaire that they sent my electronically last week and made my point that they should always allow a crossbow during archery season...but that decision will still wait awhile I am sure.

Let me know if you have any words of wisdom...

No permit is necessary to hunt in ontario with a crossbow !

Just purchase a license and you are in !

But if ya want to take an antllerlessdeer you should have allplied long ago.

Happy trails !

Oneshot...Growing up in Ontario I know all about crossbow usage, permits, anterless etc...in Ontario. Last weekend is the most difficult one of the year for me to live here...the opening of duck season where I used to live in the Ottawa Valley. (What great memories I have growing up with game all around) I moved to Florida seven years ago and by state law you can only use a crossbow during "General Gun Season"...not during archery or primitive weapon (muzzleloading) seasons without a permit.

My question to Franklin was ... what did he have to do to get a permit in Florida?

The FWC in Florida just (in the last 2 weeks) did a survey making inquiry of hunters regarding the extended use of crossbows. I would encourage any on the forum from Florida to write or call now to the FWC regional office nearest you and encourage them to extend crossbow usage across the board.
