TYE emery cloth is like a sandpaper, only instead of paper backing it is a cloth like backing. You can get it at a hardware store or auto parts store. Comes in different grades same as sandpaper.... :)

Have noticed that with mine too. On the right side when holding the bow.
Will take a look at the claws today when the Sun comes up.

Will emery cloth not make the claws rough and make them wear the string/serving even more?

You get very fine emery cloth Tye. I does smooth it out the higher the number grit, the smoother it gets it.
Its like when you do body work on your car, you put the filler in the dent then rub with 120 grain sand paper to get big chunks down then 240 grain paper, the 400 grain to smooth it right down so it feels a babies bottom.
You can get emery cloth finer than that, go to Canadian Tire store for it.

I think it's also called wet sand paper. It's black and used for wet sanding. it can also be used dry. It usually comes in 400, 600, 1000 grade. I would use the 400 grade.
