I've had a bit of flaking on the paint & fibergless of the mag tip limbs of a black and a deerhide brown model that caused no problem. Although all the limbs are the same for all models, the best made limbs are put aside for the Emax and Exocet 200. So there may be some cosmetic difference. I have had no problems with any of the limbs, carved or mag tip on any Vixen.

Due to the lessened stress on the Vixen limbs, they are very forgiving if not virtually indestructible

Bob,
You didn't dry-fire it did you? Dry-firing will cause serious damage every time!!!! (to the owner's nerves  )
With the Vixen I don't think you can do much damage dry-firing. When I was shooting a Vixen I did it twice in one day when shooting with another forum member  and never even bent the DBs. I did check it over thoroughly and put on a new string to be on the safe side, but the Vixen is practically indestructable! Yes, it is one of Excalibur's greatest. Just wish they'd still offer it in a deluxe version.

I'm taking it back to my dealer to see what EXCALIBUR's WARRANTY is like??? Thought I'd let you know  Anybody else delt with warranty issues before???
