I didn't even ask Keystone to weigh them.......when I voiced my concerns about the mixed shafts, they volunteered.......I even told them how much difference they should expect between the correct shafts and the superlights......then, they called me back and said the guys in the warehouse knew about the problem but that they had been told that the shafts shipped after a certain date were fine.......and that they had received a new shipment the week before......

After I spoke with GoldTip yesterday (the first time), I called Keystone and told them they still had a problem.......I didn't have to, my problem had been taken care of by GoldTip, but I figured it might save someone else from the same problem......

Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent to Keystone on August 29th, followed by the response on August 30th:

Subject: gold tip crossbow bolts???

I need to order a dozen GoldTip crossbow shafts
(XBO2091504), but I have been informed this week that there
was a problem at the factory and that some of the series 22
ultralight shafts were cut down and mixed in with the Laser
II crossbow shafts. Needless to say, I don't want to order a
dozen shafts and have some of the light ones in the mix!
What would you suggest so that I get the correct shafts
without any of the wrong ones mixed in??

Thanks, Mark

Mark when you are ready to place the order we can have someone at the
warehouse check the xbow bolts before they ship them to you, Thank you
and we will be looking forward to your order.

I called and talked to Don on Sept. 2 and ordered the shafts......at that time, we discussed the mixed shaft problem and I told him what to expect each type of shaft to weigh. He took the order, then called me back a few minutes later and told me what I related above about the guys in the warehouse and the new shipment.......the bundle of shafts I received were still in the shrink wrap from GoldTip.......

Anybody have other problems with this brand?

Last week I was using the Excalibur arrow puller (the kind that threads into the end of the shaft) and instead of pulling the arrow out of the butt, I pulled the nock out of the shaft.

I've heard of that happening lots of times. I just pull bolts out by hand.

Ok please help me trying to decide which xbow to buy exocet or exomax.

I would like to get the max but everyone is saying go with a heavier arrow around 225 gr (Beman's) so if I buy the package from basspro around $650. First I would be out 6 arrows that come with the bow then the heavier bolts would slow the bow down to what the exocet shoots. So should I get the exocet fo $50.00 less and beable to use the bolts that come with the xbow if they are going to shoot the same speed?

Thanks for your guys help on a big decision for me .
