Here are some broadheads I own and they all shoot 2" or better groups at 25 yards on goldtip bolts flying over 295fps out of my Exocet. Image

Do the Montecs need to be sharpened before you use them out of the box?

 ... There are so many broadheads out-there today that fly nice to choose from you can go nuts trying to figure out which broadhead to shoot.

For deer I'll be shooting 100 grain G-5's, for moose I'll be shooting the 4 blade 130 grain Muzzys.

I was shooting the Slick Tricks last year and killed 4 deer with them broadheads. I too ran out of blades for the Slick Tricks last year and that was a bummer, my own fault for not ordering enough...

The NAP "Crossfire" Broadhead looks like a pretty nice flying head too.

It sounds like you already have the perfect broadhead, why would you switch?

I was looking for different ideas, Since I am using a new bow, I wanted to know what Excalibur shooters used.

After reading this thread I am more confused lol

It's all preference, like asking the guys what's the best car? Don't switch, if the Ultimate Steel broadhead worked well for you, use it with your new bow.

I shoot the montec 140s and they do have to be sharpened right out of the box but they fly and kill very well. I took my moose and my buck with the same broadhead and its the first one im going to use this year on the count of it being a lucky braodhead. They are pricey for three but just one paid for itself twice already.

I have been using the SABER 125-TITANIUM 125 for 3 yrs.. They have a 1 3/16 cutting diameter, With a sharpness out of the box at 20/1000. I have killed 3 PY and a Elk with all but one being a total pass through. The one I didn't have a pass through, was a miss judge of yardge. In stead of a 17yd. shot it was a 11yd, put it in the spine. Still dropped in it's tracks. The Pro shop I get them from don't charge alot for them. I use a new one every time I go out.
