I never did congradulate you, the Excalibur way. Congrats!!! I know exactly how you were feeling before we found your buck!! I bet you were feeling a lot different after :D !! Patience, persistance, dedication and a little luck= a buck in the freezer!

So... rabbit?duck?grouse? What's next?

Good job Ecoaster, exciting hunt. Although he went over a kilometer, the vension should be good. He obviously just walked the total distance without being pushed.

I've got a buck and my son has a doe in the freezer now. Heading out to get our second deer on Friday and Saturday. Little Owl missed 6 very good bucks last Saturday, poor kid, he was so dejected.

Will send all pictures when hunting is over.

Grey Owl,

I learned my lesson on my doe this year. I didn't give her enough time and she took off on me. I didn't push this deer and he did just that, walked away for over a km.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

A little late on my congratulating you,
i get on here but not for long when i do.
Beautiful story, you did so well by the sound of it, it's heartwarming to know that there are a good number of HUNTERS out there with great ethics, not out to kill, but out to hunt and fill the Credo we agree/pledge to when we get our passing grades at the hunting course; took mine many years ago, most of the doctrine i go by when hunting or fishing are those thought to me by a good friend, they are the same as what the hunting course tells you and then some, and that's exactly what i have thought my 15 yr old son.
Congratulations to you and your hunting partner.
Daniele
Good hunting, be safe.
