Barnett "Wildcat C5" vs. Excalibur "Vixen'
Moderator: Excalibur Marketing Dude
Granted i would agree about the trigger on the excal's but i like the ten-point triggers the best especially the new models they are like a fine rifle, i would also go with the vixen just cause i own an excal, i still prefer the tenpoint over them both speedball..... p.s. you gotta have the best before making any choices excalibur and ten-point are it
gone huntin never to return................
I saw a young man dry fire his Barnett not 10 minutes after he bought. The bow exploded sending parts downrange. Excalibur dryfires might result in the string coming off. The fact that you can put the excal string back on yourself is worth the extra 15 bucks for the vixen.
Accuracy. Well, it's not even a fair comparison.

I own a Barnett RC-150 and I also own a Vixen. I purchased the Barnett first because I didn't know any better. I haven't shot my Barnett since getting the Vixen as the Vixen is a better bow in every way but one. The RC-150 is very easy to carry through the bush or over a long period of time. Other then that the Vixen is a better bow. The main difference is in the trigger. The Barnett trigger has about a CM of travel before it goes off. The Vixen has a crisp trigger simular to a good rifle. I believe they are set at around 3 pounds. The Barrnet trigger is heavier without question.

I have a Wildcat III and the 235 fps that they claim is actually only about the 180 fps depending on bolt weight.vpsaline wrote:Has anyone ever tried a Wildcat, if so, how does it perform?
Under their specs I get 185 fps through the crono and the bolt isn't hunting class. Hunting class bolts travel at around 165 fps at best.
The fall rate is dramatic over a short distance 30+ inches at 40 yards.

No Speedball I haven't had the opportunity to use one. We have a couple of fellows in the association from Western Australia and Victoria with them and the say that they compare to the exomag for performance and the quality is similar to Excalibur.speedball wrote:Neill, Hav ya ever tried a ten-point??
