Yeppp , I know how bad u are feeling and it's not easy dealing with the hurt....the feeling just haunts the mind. U have been blessed with a true friend , a gift indeed. Maybe in the future u will get another friend to love again.....no , it will not take the place of the lost friend , nor do u want it to, but u owe it to urself to give ur love to another pet......really. Thats why we were given these feelings.
I recently lost my 2 Beagles....mother first 3 years ago....then her daughter last fall......it's not easy typing this. And before losing these two , I lost two Dachunds.....true friends that will always be in my heart.....and we shall all meet again some day......I promised them that.
I was never a cat lover.....hated them really.....and what they stood for......I had no use for them . Then one day during a pouring rain a lil cat showed up on my pourch.....it was ready for death.....looked like a road kill, back leg didn't work as he dragged it.....but it had a beautiful face. I felt a feeling come over me that I can't explain about this cat. I took him to the vet , vet said he would be dead in a day or so if I had not brought him in. Today he is my best pet friend.....yeppp a cat.

Sorry to hear about your loss Beech, as others have said it has got to be the one of the most heart wrenching things to do. Having been in your shoes, I can understand the pain that accompanies the loss of a member of your four legged family. Remember the good times and know in your heart that you gave them the best life that you could. Hipwader
