Got it today and fired a few rounds. The wood is beyond good looking - it's really nice! The trigger isn't bad, but it could be better. Has some travel in it put not too heavy to pull. I only had one style/weight of sabot to try in it, but after getting it on target I shot two that touched each other at 100 yards. My hunting buddy shot the third shot and it was about 3" from my shots, but he tends to flinch, so I figured it's probably not the rifle. So far I'd say it is a real bargain at the price I got it for! Less than $300. shipped to me. I'll pick up some different weights/styles of bullets & sabots after gun season ends here and do some serious accuracy testing with it, but for now I'm sure any deer within 125 yards is going into the frezer!

That stock in your photo sure looks nice. I hope the gun you recieved looks like that.
Funny...my good friend also flinches badly when shooting and can't print good groups. Sometimes in jest I call him a "Trigger Jerk" -all in fun, no harm.
Have fun finding a accurate load. Are you scoping it at some time?

Ah ... a new gun.

It's like the band Lynyrd Skynyrd said: "Ooo-oo, that smell ... can't you smell that smell?"

They were talking about machine oil and walnut and varnish, weren't they?

Looks like a nice Muzzleloader :)

I've been looking at the Remington Genesis muzzleloader. Only thing is I don't really have anywhere to hunt during the muzzleloader season here, and when I'm up at the rifle camp, it's nice having more than one shot with the rifle, cuz most of my shots are running shots. So I don't know if I want a muzzleloader up there.

Hows it shootin wabi? Did you find a pet load yet? My neighbor is over in your home state down close to your area I believe with his but he never did find a load he really settled on yet. He's got a knight disc rifle.
Good Luck!

So far all I've tried was some 300 grain HornadyXTP's I had on hand. With 100 grains of pyrodex (I also had Pyrodex on hand) I'm getting about 1 1/2 - 2" groups at 100 yards. When gun season ends the local stores should have plenty of bullets & powder marked down. I'll test more then!

wabi. I have had very good luck shooting the thompson center shock wave bullets out of my encore for a while now. But this year they offered them with a diferent sabot called super glide sabots, don't buy them they say they load easier so I thought I would give them a try and they do load easier but my groups were 3-4 inches at 100yds I don't think they engage too good with the riflings in the barrel so I went back to the old style shock wave bullet sabot combo and I am back to 1 inch groups so I would not recomend the new super glide sabots.
