Really nice buck. I love the last part of the season. Some of the easiest pattern and the big boys are still in the game. Congratulations on a beauty.

Thanks all! The best part is that this deer was harvested only 10 minutes from my house in Cambridge, Ontario. A good friend of mine just bought some property this year and let me hunt on it and I have been working it all season. I was not having much luck and getting pretty frustrated with the whole thing. This time of year is very busy for us as we're getting ready for all the tradeshows coming up in January and getting together new products, catalogs and updating our website so I was not able to get out hunting as much as I would have liked. I was keeping Bill updated on my hunts and he gave me lots of great advice. Not many people have a boss that orders them to go hunting because the weather was perfect for my setup, I am a lucky guy! :D Actually, our whole staff at Excalibur is awesome and we all seem to have daily tales to tell concerning our hunts and discuss strategies. We don't just make and sell crossbows we really use them!

I feel like I really earned this buck and I'm very thankful. I don't like hieghts (makes no sense since I have a pilots licence) so I have been doing all my hunting on the ground. I have found sitting face-to-face with the deer a real challange but a wonderful experience. Friday it all came together and I was blessed with this buck. So, one of the many lessons I learned this year (every year is full of lessons) is to keep with it and you will be rewarded. Good luck to all of you for what season is left and I wish you all a very merry Christmas!

We have estimated 260 lbs live wieght but who knows? All I can tell you is my buddy and I almost had heart attacks hauling this guy about 1/2 a mile out of the bush field dressed. We got a ton of really nice looking meat off this guy which fills up the freezer! Not to mention we also got a doe the same night!
