Thank goodness we've never had the house or buildings broken in to. Just some thievery of items off the porch and out of the yard. Plenty of lights and security cameras help, but it's a sad state of society when thieves (and any criminals) have their rights so carefully enforced that honest people's rights are ignored.
Somehow I think those days when you could fill their a$$ full of birdshot were better.

Sorry to hear about your violation. It really is a sad state when people do this to other people.

I had this happen to me. Not my house but my van. About $3000 worth of gear, hunting gear, stolen. I was so pissed. It's probably a good thing(for both of us) I didn't catch them in the act. I still get fired up when I think about it.

Hopefully you have content insurance. I didn't.

For anyone else that rents or owns, you may want to consider content insurance. If you have, a hypothetical, $5000 worth of property in your vehicle, (tools, hunting gear, camera, etc.) and it gets stolen, without content insurance you will never see any of that again.

I'm not trying to hijack the original thread but Grizz and Chris4570 have brought up some very good points. Most insurance companies only pay a maximum of $500.00 for all firearm loss incidents, not per weapon, per occurrence. I have a separate firearm policy as well  . As some know, I'm the GM / appraiser for a large restoration company and it's so sad to see folks that are under insured, even worse, those that neglect to purchased a renters policy to protect their personal property. Just a thought. I hope and pray that you get some of your stuff back.

My question is how did they get this stuff out of my house at 9 in the morning and nobody see nothing. what sucks is my insurance only covers up to 250 in money so my kids are getting screwed they only cover 3 grand in jewelry so my wifes takeing a loss they didnt get my bow but they got trail cams. The one thing we can hope for is they broke in my back door and it has two windows in it and the bottom one had a palm and finger prints on it the sheriff took the entire window to send off and get the prints off it so keep your fingers crossed.

Again, we'll be praying that you get some of your stuff back. I'm so sorry that this has happened to you and your family. Some things simply cannot be replaced  . Is the Sheriff's Dept actively searching local pawn shops? Man, this is really heart breaking, is there anything that we can do for you and your family? Just let me know  . That would be sooooo sweet if they can get a good print nail the culprit/culprits. Hang in there bud.

God Bless,

I dont know about the pawn shops but i went to all the banks in the area and told them to keep a look out for some one comeing in and turning in a lot of change. The things that bother me the most is my wifes wedding ring and the hand me down jewelry and my kids money that we wont get back you cant put a price on that kind of stuff. Im going out today to get a security system and it will be up and operating TODAY. Love all you great people on this forum thank you very much for thinking about me and my entire family we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sorry to hear of your loss! Some years the neighbor got robbed, the crooks backed their truck into her ATTACHED garage and loaded up. Never saw a thing. I think it was a inside job.

I've had many breakins myself. The cops did finger printing on one of them since there were firearms envolved. They caught the kids but refused to return my firearms or even give me the culprits names so I could sue their parents because they were minors. Two months of repeated requests for information went nowhere. They just kept saying they couldn't give me that information. One of the shotguns lost was a family heirloom given to my dad from my grandfather. I really miss it. Forgive me but sometimes I think cops are only around to give me tickets to raise money for the county. My insurance company wouldn't pay up because I didn't have sales receipts for the stolen items. When my car got stolen the cops came around after I found out who did it through the grape vine and threatened me with substantial jail time if I sought revenge. The guy in this case was found with parts from six stolen vehicles and was given one year probation and no felony conviction.
