Maybe the bear was "road kill" that the state cops dropped by her place, but I figure she just bought that pelt at a yard sale. Another thought, maybe it was her spring shearing of them beautiful legs.

A woman, previously married three times, walked into a bridal

shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a

wedding gown for her fourth wedding.

'Of course, madam,' replied the sales clerk, 'exactly what type
and color are you looking for?'

The bride to be said: 'A long frilly white dress with a veil.'

The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, 'Please don't take this
the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more
appropriate for brides who are being married the first time - for

those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean?

Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?'

'Well,' replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's
directness, 'I can assure you that a white gown would be quite
appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain

as innocent as a first time bride. You see, my first husband was

so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into

our hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight

in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that

wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other

again.'

'What about your third husband?' asked the sales clerk.

'That one was a Democrat,' said the woman, 'and every night for
four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it
was going to be, but nothing ever happened...'

Bet I can guess who are the staunch republicans & democrats on this thread.
Actually I usually stay clear of political discussions, as I have to agree with Hoss - it's usually a matter of picking the lesser of two evils.
I've been following the candidates promises and histories, and I must say Sarah Palin is a person I think most of us can relate to in the sense of being real person from the real world.

DrDan wrote:At least I could afford to buy a gun when Clinton was President. Nope I lost too much over the past eight years to consider a man who hugs GWB. I'm really into Obama's energy plans. If we base our energy plans on electricity and the creation of such with wind, hydro, tide, solar it is a product that can't be exported to China. It will create tons of jobs and lots of research to improve batteries, develop solar, etc. It will create jobs and that's good for our economy. More drilling on costal waters and the oil will be sent to China and we will be stuck with the pollution. Look at these hurricanes... Global warming as a result of fossil fuel usage! No I think Obama is a thinking man vs an elderly dude with malignant melanoma 4X and a backup of a person who was mayor of a town of 8900 and two years as governor. To each and to their own I guess.

An electrical engineer whom I work with has been a big proponent of electrical energy for years. He told me several years ago that where we went wrong was by allowing fossil fuel usage for energy. We can develop better nuke plants, use solar, wind etc... there's nothing cleaner then hydro, there's no pipes running down our streets to maintain, trucks carrying oil and there's no way to monitor polution when everyone has a different type of heating source.

The only problem with this thought is you would create a monopoly because there's no such thing as honest big business. It looks to me like Obama doesn't have much of a dog in the fight for oil drilling like Bush and he's looking for another scheme to garner votes and make money.

Does anyone really believe this guy really cares about who has what guns? We're having the same fight on our side of the border. My honest opinion is those who are opponents of gun registries and bans are the more honest politicians since there are fewer votes to win. They are using the common sense approach to firearm safety and are more grounded people. If you go anti gun, you will have more population on your side and chasing the bleeding hearts. It's simple math.

I challenge Obama, or our Stephane Dion(originally a seperatist) to put your money where your mouth is, and if you really want to stop gun violence, chase the Triads, Yacuzza's and Angels. Come on Dion, have a stop by in Sherbrook and make a stand! It's not Ma and Pa's shotgun that's hurting people, it's drugs and ILLEGAL guns pushed by gangs.

Need community programs and pastimes for kids in major cities. In our country for example except for a few larger cities like GTA, Montreal, Vancouver, St. John etc... it's usually dispersed smaller cities where at the mall you would see several people whom you know, went to school with, work with etc. It's harder for kids to get into serious trouble, you get to know who the troubled kids are in schools and are typically dealt with quickly. Not only do we have fishing and hunting for pastimes there's local sports as well. You need more things for kids to do then kick a can down the street until you meet a gang member who shows interest and gives a kids a job. Then it's downhill from there.

I'm a small city guy, and I go to Toronto or Ottawa for a concert or PPC match once in awhile. It's really disheartning when you see a couple of 10 year old kids walking the streets and looking bored. They outgrew the local playground years ago. Now they're bored, too young for a job to occupy time. Starts with shoplifting and steamrolls from there! This of course doesn't help when their parents, (assuming they're still married) are working 12 hour shifts to pay the bills should be guiding their kids not just feeding them.

You see, banning guns is the easy part for a politician with no real results. The bigger problem, is really big, is really a long term job not just a term in office. It would take years to rectify and no PM or President has that time in office to make a difference so they go for the short pass, easy yards and call it a career.

Of course this is only my opinion!

DrDan . . .I spent some time looking at your picture . . .nice!

I also spent some time on Obama's website. I sincerely don't understand how he believes he will be able to spend $150 billion and give tax cuts and reduce the debt and modernize homes for low income folks. The only ones I see benefiting are American Automakers and their shareholders via the $7000 tax break(which only upper class people can afford even with the break).

He has grand ideas, but, they just don't make sense to me.

The energy issues you speak about being "Obama's" is already underway. Besides, we will not be dependent on oil in 10 years, the world supplies will be dried up.

If he pulls our troops out of Iraq there's the money. In addition he is going to cancel the tax cuts to the highest income group and give no more cuts to corporate oil; close the loopholes to corporate America.

Damn I want one of them "Schlitz"! Buy AR's and AK's and high capacity magazines! Gonna be worth a fortune!

Sheesh settle down a little "45" or yah gonna spill your beer and kick over the basket of cheese curds!

Nope I'm not a "tree hugger", "liberal" or "Democrat" but I am gonna vote for Obama. It's the first time in 43 years that I voted for a Dem, but I really don't see that I have any choice.

McCain shows me no relief for the future, Obama does. In the past 8 years my health insurance went so high I had to drop it; I couldn't sell my house if my life depended on it; gasoline, food and virtually everything I buy has risen by leaps and bounds; major banks are folding all over the country; foreclosures and bankrupcy is at an all time high and last but not least my business income is plummeting downwards.

A veterinary practice is governed by discretionary income. When you are having a heck of a time filling the gas tank and paying for food the dog isn't a high priority. Vacations and pet care are out - survival is in!

So I really have nothing against Sara Palin. I'd be glad to hunt or fish with her if the economy permitted, but I sure don't see that happening with McCain's platform. Notice that they haven't let Sara speak - not much to say I guess. Maybe they need to brainwash her first!

After seeing the Republican Convention tonight I wonder where the people of color are? No blacks, no Latino, no color seen. Hmmm is that America? And then they make the message that those who aren't Republicans and not patriotic. Maybe you have to be WASP's Sheesh...

Maybe you ought to toss that brew and give the cheese curds to the dog and take a good look around you...

DrDan . . .I love your arguements. However, sounds like you are the one that has been brainwashed. All the banks going under was the direct result of Democratic programs pushing loans for housing for the low income and folks of color with limited to poor credit ratings. That was a Clinton program . . .took it a little while to explode. Just because it happens while someone is in office doesn't mean they were the cause.

Same goes for gas prices. Both parties have had ample time and opportunities to do something over the last 30+ years. Both parties have failed us. This isn't the first time gas prices have doubled or trippled. Remember the gas shortages and the "crazy" prices that followed . . .that was in the 70's, right?

Remember Jimmy Carter and his inflation? Talk about putting the Nation at risk. You think that was all Jimmy's fault? Was it Jimmy Carter that saved us?

It's the crooks that ruin America. That's the real reason behind every nation's troubles. The banks caused the mortgage problems with a few crooked men making a killing for themselves via offering loans that had no chance of being paid back. The oil companies taking advantage of the war. The auto companies will be next. The telecom companies took a hit when WorldCom and Global Crossing went crooked. A few crooked guys in the right places can cost us a lot of money.

I've started getting a kick out of these elections. It's the same ole B.S., just change the names. And there's always fools that jump on the band wagon that actually believe.

No one person can get the job done because there are millions of folks waiting to take a hand-out and just a few willing to put forth the effort to get the job done.

If Obama gets elected, please give us a progress report next Nov. LOL.

Yup same old, same old... Someone said it best on this forum a week or so ago. It's like a bunch of monkeys in a cage throwing crap at each other. Exactly!

I'm kind of a swing voter and never know who I'm going for until I get in the booth. I like the support behid Obama and he is by far the best orator but to tell you the truth I don't know much about McCain at all. He just keeps tossing poopies and never gets down to the issues.

You know, I can see where you could say that about Obama. In reality Obama has never tossed anything other than bs. He is a super good B.S. man, he can throw out a word like "crap" and make it sound better. However, it's still "crap". McCain has actually voted on issues, taken action . . .you either like what he has done, or you do not.

It's not too late to learn about McCain . . .you owe it to me, I spent two hours reading Obama's website because of you.

Ill decide my overall opinion on her when she speaks tonight. Its to much hearsay so let the woman speak and then everyone can judge her.

Guys,

Let's be a little careful on posting so called pictures of Palin in all stages of undress. The lefties are photoshopping a lot of her pictures in order to demonize her.
