Finaly home.
Dad did very well in surgery.
A team of surgeons opend his leg then the ortho guy did the replacement in about an hour,he said it came out in pieces, the same team closed.
While this was going on I took mom to the other building and got her hooked up for a 4 hout tour.

Dad got to his room about the same time mom was done and he looked real good.
I teased him about them making his leg longer.
He is in a great deal of pain but is dealing with it in his usual quiet way,mom by his side of course.I understand when he wakes tonight they will get him up.

I talked mom into going home and my sister is with her.
My dad's sister is with him and I am woe out!!!!!!!.

Thank you lord for your mercy.

Dad has left Mayo and was taken by ambulance to a rehab hospital for a few weeks.I feel sorry for those poeple, hes a big bear
Mom is right by his side after 55 years+.

When I see my [parents down like that it brings up strange emotions for me about what my role is in their recovery and still maintain my health and support my family.
I know some here deal with this issue, please chime in and school me on thsi taking care of parents thing.

We've been doing the parents thing for years now. The last few years have been particularly tough for both Tim and I with our parents health issues and living arrangements. Not sure what to tell you, except to make the most of the time you have together, even though it's not always easy or pleasant.

We often feel like we can't do right - we can't do all we'd like to be able to do for our parents, and then we struggle with finding enough time for ourselves, our spouse and child/children. These past years we've often had months with no time left over for ourselves. It was rough but it was necessary.

Good luck Sax, there are no easy answers.
