This is just one of those 'fights' that some people just won't let go of. I have shot them all (bows) and honestly, once you put fibre-optic sights, a peep sight and a kisser button on a compound, you're pretty much set to hit a pie plate at 20 yards as long as you hit that anchor point and are using a trigger-style release. So, what's the difference between that and a crossbow? Both are technical marvels and should be allowed during archery season, in my opinion.
Those from the compound crowd who are anti-crossbow should really take a good long look at the tool they're using and if they're that adament that crossbows should not be used during archery season, they should leave their compounds at home and use nothing but a good old stick and string (traditional archery). No sights, no let off, no trigger release, just good old fashioned energy created by wood limbs from string to arrow. Try that on for size folks and it will make your compound bows look like you're cheating.
I don't care what you shoot...as long as you're shooting. These are the splits within the hunting community that the antis just love.

It greed, plain and simple. Most know that a crossbow isnt able to perform magic. It has the same limitations as compound. And both are releasing a sting with a trigger, so dont try that route AGAIN
And any archery requires a skill level that you have to maintain year round.
It comes down to not wanting to share the woods and the game, which I should add belongs to everyone, even the non-hunting public. (That is if it crown land or state land.)
