I may be totally off base here and if I am I’m sorry, but shooting groups with a crossbow is just not what it was designed for. The primary purpose of our crossbows is as a hunting tool. The first shot that you take will more than likely be the only shot you get. It’s great to be able to say that I shot a 2” group at 40 yards, but in reality what you should be worried about is that you hit the target (point of aim) with the first shot. As long as it is within 2 to 3 inches of the dot, either way (aiming center mass), you’re still in the kill zone. The Excalibur crossbow is not a precision minuet of angle sniper rifle. Although, it is close.
I shoot Gold tip arrows with 110 grain brass inserts and 2 inch vanes with wraps. My total weight for my hunting arrow (including Trophy Ridge 100 grain Meet Seekers, 2 blade) is 401 grains. I have no problem keeping my shots in the kill zone out to 40 yards nor do I have a problem getting total pass thru shots with them. As I said I mean no disrespect to any one who posted on this post but grouping is just not what its about, or at least, not for me anyway.
