here is the math i did for a 30yd shot on a different thread

"sound travels at 1125 fps, 30 yds, 90 feet about .08 seconds
my axiom is shooting 298 fps 90 feet about .33 seconds
so i figure the deer has about a 1/4 second head start, I like my chances!!!"

so a 15 yard shot would be about a 0.125 second head start.

Now on the other side of that coin a 50 yard shot, 150 feet,

sound .133 seconds
arrowfigure about .6 seconds (arrow deceleration becomes more of a factor at this distance)
that is a head start of .467 seconds, almost half a second, not liking the chances much anymore!

All i have done for my axiom was add the S5, and that is not for noise but to lessen the vibrations on my carpal tunnel!

And that is why I keep all my shots 30yds and under elementary Watson :lol:
