Just make sure that about 15-20% of the total arrow weight is front of center (FOC). If the front and back of your arrows are essentially equal in weight, or there's more weight in the back, the blades on the broadhead will have a tendency to cause the arrow to windplane and they won't group very well. If you shoot big vanes (4") on the arrows, shooting a 150 grain broadhead (at the least) is recommended. If the broadheads aren't heavy enough, you're not going to have enough weight front of center.

There's several things you can do on this though. If you shoot shorter veins, then that's less weight. If you add a brass insert into the front, this will compensate for some of the weight of the broadhead (allowing you to shoot 100-125 grain heads).

Clear as mud?
So what length vanes come on the firebolts????

4"

Try the 125 grain Tricks with the Firebolts and see how they fly. If they won't group very well, yank the aluminum front inserts out and put brass ones in and try that. My guess is that if they didn't group earlier, they should then.

Also, if I refletch with blazer vanes or even if I don't and later on have to refletch with 4" vanes should it be done with a straight or offset helical???
