I also had the same problem with a 2010 trophy cam.
Apparently so did a ton of other folks. After trying the updates on their site and trying all I could with no luck I finally sent it into Bushnell via their customer service instructions and they sent me a brand new updated model in less than two weeks!
New one works flawlessly!
Bushnell is quite aware of the problems with that years model and should give you no problems.
Here is a link to a review of that cam and the problems you're having.

2 weeks, that's awesome, seems Bushnell USA has much better customer service than here in Canada.

I was certainly surprised how fast I received it. They don't have the best reputation in that department. I'm thinking because of all the problems with that model they probably couldn't hide from it!

This 2010 Bushnell Trophy Cam is just a paper weight. I hope they do the same for me here in Canada. I used to deal with the Bushnell Rep for Eastern Canada when I worked at Carl's Store in Tusket, Nova Scotia. I will give him a call Tuesday. I would like to see what he has to say about it. Maybe he can speed things up. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I am not sure the year of mine but I got it in Dec. I had a lot of problems getting pictues but now it works pretty good. I had 240 pictures in 2 weeks and 160 were fair shots of some type of animal. Some were sun since the woods are pretty small and open with no leaves. I still have a problem though. Mine can take a full area picture in daylight but at nigh when the flash is used it seem to narrow in on centre only. You can see a slight shadow or glowing eyes on the sides or further back and in the daylight that would have been a clear shot the flash just doesnt seem to cover the space.

Bugs, place your trail cam looking north or south, that way it does not face the rising and setting sun which will give you those sun washed pictures.

how can you tell what model year you have? is it stamped on it somewhere?

Ive had mine for a year now, but i was aware of the online updates even though i have not had a problem with mine as long as i position it correctly. I am curious if it is one of the 2010 batch though. I would venture a guess that theres a good chance tho.... I enjoy this camera so far. 1 year and im still on the same set of batteries! pictures aint too bad either. Now if I can only get more than one turkey to show up on it

over-run with deer though! and 'coons....

The 2009 serious had the 24 LED's and the 2010 serious was the first time they started with the 32 LED's. I know I bought mine in 2010 of May and mine is one of the bad ones. It worked okay at the beginning but not perfect. Once and awhile It would have blank white photos, and then it just continued taking photos of nothing until it killed the batteries. I brought the camera into the house last fall and formatted the card and turned it on and turned it facing the wall where there was no movement to set the camera off. I went back later on to check it and it had taken an enormous amount of pictures of the wall and the color was not even correct. I forgot about it and the two year warranty is up in May so I have to get this camera sent out right away.

I could be wrong, but I think in 2010 is when the 8mg cameras came out, before that they were 5mp, and the 2009 model # was Model 119405, whereas the 2010 models were 119435, 45,55.

It is facing South with most of the wooded area in front of it. The woods are just small and have a lot of light filtering areas in the good camera spots. I can live with the sun pics if I could get better night pics

Thats the only complaint I have with my 2009 Trophy is the night shots, I guess thats why the newer ones have more LED's. If the newer ones had a better rep I would get one because they now have audio.
