Boo strings are the bomb. I just put at least 200 shots through the equinox on the new string and have just flipped it 180 so serving gets a go on the other side.
If i got 500 shots before a re-serve i would be super happy. I may get more as the string is not showing much wear at all. Ive only been getting half that out of my flemish excals, they are however much cheaper i admit. :D

If it says Leupold its "the bees knees" ( I am a bit of a Leupold fan) lol
Although on my hunting bows they are basic, non lighted scopes. The quality optics let you see before and after legal hours here anyway, and its just one less thing to go wrong.(1-4x heavy duplex shotgun vxI and vxII ) These are smaller and lighter as well.just a thought. Thanks for your review.

I have heaps of them, but have a look an my web site mate....

as far as my matrix goes, to compare to the equinox...
the equinox is smooth and calm, the matrix is just plain angry, and I think takes a little more taming than the others. I am getting leupold to see if they can make a custom scope up for it as I can not see me using the tac zone for much longer...
I emailed them and Ill let you know what they say, I have asked for a illuminated version of the crossbones or ill go for the vx-r with ballistic fire dot rec...

Smooth and calm ... plain angry.

Well said. You totally captured each model in precise verbage.

Look forward to reading what Leopold has to say to your inquiry.

All the best.

I am curious how Leupold will respond? I don't think they can make a non-illuminated scope into illuminated, so I feel the VX-1 crossbones is a no go. After reading Leupold's FAQ about reticle changes. I know Leupold can change reticles for most models except the Rifleman line.

Leupold's VX-R with the Ballistic FireDot would be excellent for crossbows. You would just need to find where the power ring and lines would need too be for yardages.

If it were me I would select the Leupold VX-R FireDot 4 which is a German #4 illuminated, but I don't like ballistic reticles. I was thinking of having my Leupold VX-I NWTF edition shotgun/muzzleloader scope with a Turkey reticle changed to the German #4.

Leupold can also change the parallax setting for you as well.

Here is Leupold FAQ link for which reticle they can change.

http://www.leupold.com/resources/faqs/# ... TheReticle

2. Can I have the reticle in my scope changed to another style?

The Leupold Custom Shop can install a variety of reticle offerings in virtually any Leupold scope; the only modern exception being the Rifleman line. Though the available offerings vary depending upon the exact scope, most scopes will accept most standard reticle offerings. Standard reticle offerings include:

Fine Duplex
Duplex
Heavy Duplex
Wide Duplex
Wide Duplex RE (Range Estimating)
CPC
Target Dot
Leupold Dot
Crosshair
German #1
German #4
Post & Duplex

This is the kind of grouping and penetration I am getting, 2 shots @ 30 and two at 60.
My ragbag is really not good enough to stop them well out to 40, 50 and 60 is Ok... time to get the wet suit off cuts into the sack me thinks
I put the stock string on for shits and giggles and no surprises here, it was faster than the Boo string but also way louder, I took it off after 2 shots. the Boo string is just way better to shoot with IMO.

Looks like you achieved the results you wanted. You can't ask for better at 30 and 60 the way I see it.

I agree with you mate, if you look at the fletching there is a black mark on them, this is the letter B this stands for BAD, all the good ones that shoot better have a red line on them, because I keep robin hooding them I only shoot one good one at a time then they go into the hunting pile. I have 7 that are dead on @ 50 with bolt cutter 150 grain... that will do me

Hey Mick, I had a couple of bad ones too so I tried shooting each one with a different cock feather down, and low and behold if some of them didn't fall right into the dot. I spined all my arrows before I fletched them but obviously I missed something on the bad ones. Cheers
