I've had success on a number of occasions squeezing an apple drinking box on a stick in the ground or small skinny tree.
The meat don't fry if the arrow don't fly!

Gimmi a break. Deer can smell 1000 better than humans, as well as dogs, if not better. Biggest mistake most folks make is using too much scent. Had a deer trail ME, with t he several drops I put on each sole for some 200 yards. Ran into a guy that had plastic film containers (back in the day), loaded with cotton balls and jazzed up with deer lure, all around his round stand. Looked like a friggen religious ceremony. The duffus had set up - in the dark - within 100 yards of me. (Public land). I told him about what I though of both his piss pots and hunting practices ...and left. You don't need heat. Just a tad of lure is any. No one has ever asked what the deer think of the stuff.

Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!
