Not to worry, that would not be appropriate. But this would!

I don't take this stuff seriously. I think business is business and as long as it is legal, right or wrong a person has a right to do what they do. If we believe otherwise then there are 2 choices, accept it or do something about it. However, some things that are legal are still worthy of comment from one direction or the other.

I try to avoid Chinese made products and big chain stores as much as possible , but at times it can not be avoided . I got tired of buying things more than once when poorly made things broke . spend a bit more once and save in the long run .

Actually, Sam Walton was proud of the fact that what his stores sold was made in America. It was after he died and the kids took over that the company went to hockey sticks. Sam would drive an old pick up, and he wore overalls most of the time. Employees really liked him for the most part, and he was famous for showing up at a store and acting like a "normal" customer to see how they were treated.

His kids are interested in one thing-profit. So much the worse for all of us.

We have been put into a tough position with no way out.
Don't blame Walmart or any other business for selling what they do.
These decisions were made at top government levels in our countries.
Lobbyists worked very hard and I'm sure greased some palms to change trade laws to the benefit of off shore commerce.
Business is only doing what is now legal!!

Ya, but like any other large publicly trade company they're accountable to the stock holders first and foremost. That premise drives all major business decisions.

Exactly. The #1 priority of a publicly traded company is to maximize shareholder wealth. So in that respect they're just doing what businesses do. It goes without saying, Walmart's record of how they treat their employees is beyond shameful. But ultimately it's the consumers who control the fate of any business by either spending our dollars there or taking them elsewhere. Like I said everyone wants to blame WM for flooding our markets with cheap imported products, but as long as we keep buying them they'll keep selling them. The thing that burns me up is it's got to the point where you almost have no choice, you either buy the imported product or you walk out empty handed. I've reached a point where I do without in a lot of instances, or I fix what I have. Other than groceries (and that's even starting to change) go to ANY store and pick 10 items at random off a shelf and see where they're made, odds are it's not the US. Personally I find that sad, and I also think it's bad for our long term strength and stability. The last 10 or 15 years has seen the largest transfer of wealth from one country to another in the history of the world, that is a fact. It's leaving our country and going you know where.
