Yep, turkey's are really tough, shot placement is the key.
Since you brought up shot placement, where is the best place to hit them? Aim for the base of the neck? I have heard of some trying to pin the wings, but that was with a vertical. I have only shot one turkey, and it was with a smokepole. Looking forward to this years season. Thanks.....RR

Certainly,but a wider cut mech. should give a little extra margin for error.

Spine or head, them wings are like armor plate.

My wife lost her first gobbler, he was 15 yds shot with a 20 ga 3"mag # 4 shot, rolled him hard and when he got his feet under him he was runnin :shock:
Don't know any man that could take a hit like that an still walk let alone run.

Killed 1 with a Grizztrick and 2 with the Slick Trick Mags I like both of these heads.

I shoot for the heart/lungs,side shot lots of guys shoot for the head you either hit or a clean miss,texas lung shot if its fanned out and faceing away from you! just above were the beard is atached to the body
