Re: Matrix 355 speed question
Keep in mind that the string you're using can give you a faster or slower shot. If BOO made you a quieter, more stable string chances are it'll be heavier.
You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.

Re: Matrix 355 speed question
Just reading all these posts shows how many variables go into getting that speed down right. Thanks much everyone for the information. I believe Don made me a string to get my bow quieter and that is OK. Just was surprised at first with the low speed number that I was getting. Interesting stuff!!

Re: Matrix 355 speed question
Aha! Re-weighed my arrows, complete with broadhead I am at 434 gr, getting 341 f/s out of my 380. May cut back to 125 or even 100 gr heads next year (form 150) and see what happens. I know speed isn't the end-all/be-all.

Re: Matrix 355 speed question
My 18" 402gr Zombies are averaging 335fps out of my M355. That's my full hunting arrow, 92gr insert, 28gr lumenok, 100gr slick trick mag. 341fps if I go back to the stock flat plastic nock (8gr).

Re: Matrix 355 speed question
Yea, I had the same question about my 355 a couple months ago. Out of the box with 350 gr bolt shoots at 345. Clocked thru my chronograph. Then verified speed by usings Bill's sight procedure by shooting at 50 yds and adjusting the speed dial which ended up at 345. It shot a 2 1/2" group at 50 yds. It did its job couple weeks ago, the doe didn't know what hit her.
