I thought the same thing . it was a bad hit so he waited for awhile to track it ,I am sure if it was light out they would have seen each other . I think the deer ran into him when it was bumped and he go hit by the deer. that's the way I see it . we all have tracked after dark and some time things happen . will keep you posted if they say anything more. all hunting accidents must be reported in the state of Wisc. they will investigate i'm sure.

It's not easy to realize they don't see things from our perspective. If they start to kick, it's usually with all their might, because it is a life a death struggle for them no matter what the situation is. Do a search on you tube, there's a few that are very surprising.

My Dad has told me many stories of moose they' a harvested over the years, unless they were keeping the head, the moose received a shot at close range to be sure of no surprises during approach.

Hopefully the hunter fully recovers.
