"We don't need wheels"...........
Now it's up to their "heirs" to "pick up the ball and run with it". It appears that they are striving to do so in a very zealous and accelerated pace. With the backing of the Excalibur brand name, I would think that only by making misguided and major missteps, would they fail

I agree, at one time I owned the top of the line "flagship" model from a company which is said to make the best compound xbows. As "awesome" as it was, it wasn't for me. After having it sit in its case and unused for several years, I finally got rid of it.

I agree that Excalibur is a brand/design of xbow that will continue to be manufactured for a long time. However after working for a large automotive manufacturing company for over 35 years I have seen to many mergers of companies ( suppliers) that were managed under far different concepts and priorities. I believe that it is only a matter of time and Bowtech will change the customer service that Excal is so well known for. They are all about the bottom line and that will eventually rear its ugly head. This is so typical that a company not known for good customer service take over a company that has a reputation as best in class and change the entire makeup of the business to milk every last nickle from that companies reputation, stack the books and then sell it all at a huge profit....Hope I am wrong....

Since I had never owned a crossbow before, after I decided to purchase one I did a lot of research on all the brands. I felt a recurve was the right choice for me, I wanted reliability. I haven't had experience with compound crossbows but seems like there is more that could go wrong with that type of system.

The Offspring will be predominately made by Excalibur and shipped to Bowtech to be sold by Bowtech. Excalibur has no intentions of selling the Offspring.

As to the comments of things changing for the worst, to coin a bit of sarcasm, I don't think so! The sky is not falling as long as Rob Dykeman is in charge.

Its not about negativity Boo its about facts of life in the business world. I certainly hope this is not the case believe me as I have used Excal warranty a couple times already and it is a magnificent system. God help us if that changes but reality is reality and people come and people go...we shall see....take care.

As stated in another post, BillT still has his hands into research & development (unless he has stepped further in retirement). Bill told me that the new bows (matrix) were Rob's idea but Bill and another worked together to develope these bows and that he was more then pleased in how they turned out.

Without Rob's direction, I do not think Excalibur would have developed the matrix series bows. Is this showing a demise of Excalibur, I do not tbink so, I think it is forward movement.

As for others coments that it is "facts of life that business's buy companies just to rape them of their value, then sell them". Yes there are some companies which do this, but there are way more companies out there which purchase companies to help themselves.

To improve your company you need to get a new direction either by hiring new people or by purchasing or partnering in another company. Value wise, sometimes it is cheaper to partner with another then it is to try and hire proven people away.

In todays economy, more and more business are going to better customer service just because customers are DEMANDING IT! They also see that tbere is great value in keeping customers happy.

So far, everything I have seen is positive, not negitive so lets give Excalibur the benifit of the doubt, they have earned that much.

Bingo. I have yet to see the dark side. Everything to me is the same or heading in the positive direction.

Logically, if what you propose will happen were to be true we would have seen it already. Why would a company only focused on maximizing the bottom line wait even 1 day to make the changes? That would cost them money. I think your concern was valid a year ago when the merger happened, but this past year has shown this concern to have diminished greatly.

Well its not my intent or nature to be the Debbie downer here..Lol However I do think it is important for everyone to post their concerns and opinions and make it clear that we all value customer service and it would be a huge mistake for the company to ignore that. My career experiences are much different than most of yours that I am sure of. Some will agree with me some won't that's life..I do believe with people such as Peter, Dawn, Danny and others who take ownership of their company even as employees and know how to treat people that this company will continue to thrive especially with the superior product they produce. The facts are that in the end people are what makes or breaks a company and I just want Bowtech/ Excalibur to hear me/us loud and clear that we value the Excalibur way of doing business and that anything less won't cut it. Interesting discussion. Thanks all for the encouragement and kind words. Let me give you some insight from somebody who works here. A bunch of us have worked at Excalibur for quite a long time and we really take pride in the products we make. Every time I shoot my Excalibur's I get this big goofy grin and know why people love our stuff so much. When I started here Bill took me under his wing and instilled in me how important looking after the good people who buy our products is. Our goal is to always do whatever it takes to get our customer's back in the woods after any type of issue. We all feel this way and my team in the customer service department are the best out there. We are also pretty hard headed and I can tell you that we have stood up for our belief in customer service in many a meeting.

The people at Bowtech are good folks. They see how we do things and many of the people I deal with there really want to follow our business model. But, as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day". They are making strides to improve things and they have done a good job this year. You will see changes in the future and I'm sure it will be in a positive direction.

Thanks again for all of you out there who buy our products and stay loyal to the Excalibur brand. You are the people responsible for our amazing growth and keep us all working!

Peter
