So much for letting it die.
Some should just stick to the PM bashing, it's easier to have someone else do your dirty work so your hands appear clean, to the naive.

Re: Eric, hope you stick around!
I rarely wade into cess pools like these but I just have to today.
First and foremost, this post was written to inflame tensions, not to notify someone new to the forum, that a post was made elsewhere in the forum. Everyone knows that.
Second, Normous is not an a$$hole as someone has suggested. He is one of the most generous people I have ever met. His input in this forum carries a lot more weight than someone who's only been shooting a crossbow for a few years. He was wronged by the poster, there is no doubt about that. Everyone here has seen the proof, and forum members were present when equipment Dan sold Norm failed, causing damage to his limbs and stock. And to my knowledge, Dan has never apologized nor has he tried to make amends, (keep that in mind if ever you buy from him). So if I were in Norm's shoes, I wouldn't waste an opportunity to light Dan up when they're presented.
I have ignored xcalibre's posts for about a year now for a variety of reasons but chiefly because of some of the revolting things he's written in the past and if you didn't read any of it before it was taken down, your ignorance is simply that...ignorance; so don't go pumping St. Daniel's tires. He should've left, (like he said he would, twice if memory serves me right), or been kicked off the forum for that stuff. But alas, he's still here...only he's not if you use the foe function.
Trust me, your enjoyment of the forum is much better when you don't have to read the crap posted by the people you don't want to hear from.

The same comments should be used when nasty posts are made toward certain folks here, but strangely they are not! I'm not in the Clique, I got that! But I don't take every opportunity to bash others that some do, and I don't just start some "F" so & so threads. Aside from that, great observations you guys. If you want to monitor, then do so with an unbiased approach.

Apparently you have never wandered in to a motel room he is in, wearing muddy hunting boots.. He gets pretty ugly about that.racking up points wrote:

I didn't like that post either, Norm is a good guy. He and Patti are household names here. I think of them as family, good family.
As friends, we don't discuss this forum, Norm is typically a forgive and forget guy, and I am a speak my mind person. Yet we manage to get along fine.

I know none of you... I'm sure you're all great guys in person.xcaliber wrote:For your information Stan, when you send a PM, The recipient gets an email if they have it set up to receive emails on their cell phone, as soon as they open the email it appears to have been read. I seen it, but after seeing all the other things you have been posting I had no motivation to read it! I did read it after that thinking maybe you had something to say, but nope.
My only comment is that this is not at all how it works. The forum software has no idea if you open/read an email. It does however know if you open a PM. Just thought you might want to know this for future consideration.
Re: Eric, hope you stick around!
You are correct, you click on the message tab to see who sent it, and it appears to have been opened at that time. Prior to that step you have no idea who PM'd you.
Thanks for the clarification.
