I latched onto the 380 as soon as it became available. For me, it was (and still is) the Be All End All bow. Spent a LOT of time tweaking it up to the Best I possibly could, and then a LOT of time shooting it. Loads of Power, and Incredible Accuracy. Had some Great Hunting Success with it, and I am very confident in it's abilities.

Then of course they introduced the 405. And initially, I bought into the hype, and sort of felt I "needed" that extra little bit of Power. Toyed with the idea for weeks. Sometimes even today I ponder...

But... Upon reflection, I decided that simply wasn't the route for me. Countless hours have been invested in my 380 both in terms of tweaking and shooting. And it is pretty much The Way I Want It right now. To give that up and start all over again with a new bow - for 25 feet per second - simply made little sense to me. That, and I don't really know how much I'd like shooting the stronger bow as much, or as often as I like shooting the 380...

So, I'll plod along with my "slower" bow for now.
Hope they don't come up with a 450!!

Cheers,
Nog

Thanks for all the replays, I am new to this x bow stuff. I went today and cocked and shot the 380'and the 405. Liked the scope on 405 better, but I went with the 380. Being new to this I want to shoot a lot. And I felt I could do so with the 380 more then the 405. The 405 is a beast though and awesome scope. Hope I made right choice . Will be putting it together tomorrow and punishing some targets. Thanks agian

Congrats, and you have on great bow there! Don't get caught up in the speed trap, all of the Excalibur bows will make quick work of your quarry, and provide tears of great service.

Enjoy!

....congratulations Ksb...welcome aboard and you are going to love your new 380....both my boys and me own the Blackout...we took 6 deer this year including 2 nice bucks...I would honestly think that these deer don't have a chance inside 40 yds...many guys/gals replace the kit scope with the adult scope of their choosing...we have with the Leupold Crossbones....

...again welcome and conrats...I don't think you will regret your decision at all...

...hey, if you get a chance, why not complete your registration and include where you are located...it's fun when we know where people hail from!

Congrats on your decision and welcome to the forum. I'm sure you are gonna love your new 380, which pattern did you go with? what scope came with your package? My son has the Blackout and the tach-zone scope. And likes it, I find the scope nice with the lighted reticle, which makes a low light shot a lot better, only knock I had with the scope was the optical clarity or glass. But wow does that bow shoot, those arrows almost scream going down range. Good luck and keep us posted, and like Anthony said fill out your profile so we know more about you...........

Ksb just what we need more Florida boys in this forum, I'm from the Tampa area, Ft,Myers I know you are gonna have some fun at the hogs!! Hunted down there a few times, but not with the crossbow, this is my first year I've got a Ibex and have really enjoyed it, But soon I will also be getting a m-380 my son seen me shooting the Ibex last year, and was so impressed he got the blackout.. And sort of hung up his compound SMILE... The 380 is amazing I feel its the ultimate in crossbows, Again welcome bud..

I put it together today (very easy) and it only took about 6 shots of sighting in scope enough to be nervous about hitting other bolts. it is very accurate. I am so glad I got the 380. Was only able to shoot 10 times before dark. I want to put out some lights to shoot more, but might upset the neighbors . Little louder then I thoght it would be. Might get some of the air brakes for it. Any comments on those? And Bubba yes can not wait to smack a hog with it.
