every dead yote is a victory in my opinion. great job .its rare that a yote will give you a shot that close. she must have been so focused on the decoys she forgot to sniff :roll:

I had watched her enter the field and got a bit of video of her approaching. Unfortunately I had my gloves on and was trying to work the camera on the phone.

The wind was in my favor. She was circling downwind of the decoys and it made for a close shot. She didn't notice as I moved to shoulder the gun.

I hit her right behind the front leg and broke her shoulder. She dropped in her tracks and died quickly - more quickly than most dogs I've taken to the vet. I gave her a decent burial in the woods. Was thankful for the thermocell!
