Not to mention that real Italians, like me, make homemade tomato sauce, as well as wine.

Ok, I suppose we should give Anthony a break since he was probably born in the USA, unlike me who was born in the old country and have just lived in Canada for only 60 years. :)

....you are correct Lou....on my mother's side my nonna and nonno were born in Italy.....never met my grandfather who passed before I was born...my nonna only spoke to me in Italian which my mother and father said I spoke fluently...she passed when I was six...and as I said my mother and father only spoke it when they didn't want me to know what they were saying...plus the dialect I spoke was from Molfetta....(the chinese version of Italian    )

...on my father's side both grandparents were born here and their families went back to Bari Italy when they were infants...hence till the day they passed they spoke broken English....go figure!

Anthony :)

PS: my wife is Italian Argentinean... born in Buenos Aires....she speaks Italian and Spanish...so I am clueless most of the time  :? ....

....and when I think I can get over on her I get hit with:

"La Chancla"

https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=Av ... %20chancla

PSS: My wife and brother in law make the fresh sauce from fresh tomatoes also...and her uncle still makes the homemade "vino!"

Thanks Anthony for enlightening me on your past. Your situation is not uncommon. The only reason I can speak my dialect is because my dad, God rest his soul, insisted that in the house we spoke "Italian", Heck, even my sister who was born here can understand and speak it. It also helped that my mom's mother who didn't speak a word of English lived with us until her death in 1985.

Unfortunately my daughters don't, although we spoke it to my oldest until she was about three, when we realized that it was jeopardizing her learning English we stopped, and didn't speak it to the two younger ones when they were born. However, even though the two oldest are married, when it's "tomato time" all three still pitch in; they say nothing beats homemade sauce.

Now now, Tom

Although that would make your day, especially if you got to put it on her, you best be careful, otherwise Big John might be given you a bruising.

Now now, I am smarter then that. I will let Big John (daddy) put the diaper on (me thinks he might have done it before).

Interesting Tom, :o are you saying what I think you are :?: It seems like you're getting yourself deeper.

Even though that would keep it in the family..... somehow I think maybe BabyNelson might want a say in the matter. Considering she's a big girl now, I don't think that would be kosher.

For anyone who would like to have work done on their bow by TPM and the Dodge Grand Caravan, best make reservations now to sure you get it done this year! Not so sure the ol' van will make it to another BooFest after this one.
