I had the same issue of the smell of skunks at my house in Toronto, they were residing at my balcony but then the smell was so intense that it was also inhaled by my family members in the room. I got to know about the services being provided by ‘Hawkeye The Bird & Animal Specialists’ http://www.hawkeye.ca/, they had come to my house and got an outline of the place from where the skunks were to be removed, they came another day with the required equipments to be used to remove them from the balcony, and finally the skunks were all removed completely.

IF you shoot them do a double lung shot, less likely to spray (notice LESS likely). Down here they have animal control you can rent (private companies/individuals) but they usually charge an arm and a leg for their services.
Another place to check out is http://www.trapperman.com/forum/ubbthre ... d/3/page/1 . bunch of good guys there but need to join to post. Possibly can search without joining I think?

I do one of two things. I either trap them in a cage trap and approach with a blanket like was previously mentioned. Put it in the back of your truck and relocate. The first time I did this the wife got out the video camera because she wanted to catch this on tape. Luckily I was successful.

Secondly, I bought a nice Remington pellet rifle for $120 and that thing is a sniper rifle. If given the chance I'll just shoot them in the head at a reasonable distance of like 25 yards or so.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Cut a big hole in an icy pond near your house and spread a can of English peas around it. Then when the skunk comes up to take a pea, kick him in the ice hole. :D

How would you know, you're from Texas?
You have nothing but watering holes, 80 degree weather in November, and tumble weed.

I suppose you're right about that... BUT, if ever there should be a need for info on Armadillo herd maintenance I might be your guy :)

Sorry to get off topic, I'm out in the country a bit... so we just give those skunks a little lead poisoning.

I live in town and I do the same thing. Like I said, I just open up the window, sit back in the room like a real sniper would instead of hanging the barrel out of the window, and take the shot. Head shots work real good when you're sighted in.
