Trouble, don't worry how loud the bow is because the deer really don't care. Your arrow will be thru him before he knows what' s up!

Recenty sold a couple recurves and a guy just "Has to have" my Axiom so even though I'm selling it kind of cheap with the Nikon ,ADF, S-5's, one of Excaliber Dan's very custom strings and 8 firebolts with 150 gn f/p's (All for $550   )

I'm not sure how I'm gonna' handle loosing that sweet shooter. however, I have another in mind.

I'm going to take the proceeds to Cabelas and take another really serious look at this 370.... What do you guys think ? Since I already have an awesome 355.

I don't want to go more than 10 #'s higher with my shoulder issues than the 240# I'm now shooting with the 355. So Micro, 380 and 405 are kind of out of the running for me...

I did call Dawn today to get some feedback on any limb issues with this model .... she can only remember 3 ever comming back, :P so guess not much to worry about in that department.

your thoughts please..thank's,

Gene, you will love the fact that you need only one arrow box, and string baggie!

Dan I'm not grasping completely.... Do you mean stay with one bow ( my 355) or also get the Cabelas 370 Matrix ? I always give your opinion a lot of weight.

He meant you will only need one size string and arrows since the 355 and 370 are basically the same except for a few extra# draw and fps.

(Recoil Energy Dissipation System) on my bow to try to make it a little quieter. I'm new to crossbows and crossbow hunting, but I'm very impressed with the accuracy of this bow. I'm looking forward to harvesting my first deer.
I like the Air Brakes. I prefer the Dr Stirrup system. Look it up if not familiar. You can see the Dr Stirrup accessories on my M405.

Question

I just bought this bow today. I am new at this and my buddy looked at it and he is thinking the string is way too close to the riser.

I do not know how to upload a picture but it's about 3/4 of an inch lower then the line away from the scope. Directly at the riser.

Does this sound correct.

Thanks

Yes it's way too low.... Take it back and have someone in the archery dept adjust it with a Excalibur string changing /adjusting device before shooting it even once. Then be sure and buy yourself a device before leaving the store as the string will require additional adjustment for some time.

Your asking for the string to possibly blow off of a limb tip or worse yet end up with limb breakage issues as it's set now...

The string should be removed (on one end) while limbs are suppoerted by the string device and twisted counter-clockwise until you put it on and with normal pressure applied it rests just behind the referance line on your rail... Once you equip the bow with a set of "REDS" keep a 1/4" gap between the front of the string and the rubber bumpers...

You can access the videos in the grey area just to the left of this or other posts, look in the "DVD Catolog" as there is lots of good info there and proper string changing and adjusting is covered there.

Always feel free to ask for advise as there are many here who have loads of good advise to share.

It's generally better to start a new thread rather than revive a year old thread  ... but you need to buy a stringing aid to get the string where it needs to be. It needs to be kept behind (towards the scope) the line.

Anthony,

Your right this post was started over a year ago. But the most recent poster (Gerster )above, added his question to it on Nov 3rd 2016, just 2 days ago..and that's why I answered it... If you look, this was only his second forum post, so I'm guessing he went back and found an old post dealing with a new bow he had just got thru Cabelas...

Yes, he should have started a new post, but perhaps he was not aware of posting procedures here ? I gave him the "Benefit of the doubt" . and will probably make the same mistake again at some point.
