Re: String alignment
The string is not square to the barrel. The REDS are both exactly 2 3/8 inches. When I measured from the center of the barrel out to the limb tip the right one was 14 3/4 inches and the left was 15 1/8 inches. Peter said they shot it to make sure it was 400 fps but with it being so far off I don't know it is safe to shoot? I also wonder if it will throw off the accuracy and or ruin the limbs being out of wack. I'm very surprised they couldn't see this before it was sent not sure what to think.

Re: String alignment
Pretty discouraging there. Still trying to process the two pictures u posted . Not the same photo right? the REDS seem to be at a different angle. Mistakes happen but hard to believe someone could miss something that obvious . Definitely discouraging if true

Re: String alignment
Looking at this really hard, the riser seems to be off plane to the center line. Looks like the left side in top picture is about 1/4" higher.

Re: String alignment
I'd do two things at this point: 1) see what the limb deflection #'s are, and 2) swap the limbs and measure then. In no way am I thinking this is the answer to this problem but might provide some insight to the problem.

Re: String alignment
Tiller being out of whack is not unsafe, but fixed broadhead flight would definitely be affected as your range increases. It happens when one limb has a higher deflection than the other. No doubt you have a warranty issue, but not a safety issue. Like SEW said flip flop the limbs and if your tiller problem "migrates" to the other side of the mainframe, you have mismatched limbs, regardless of what deflection value is written on the backside of the limb.

Re: String alignment
I tell you what, cock yer crossbow set safety. Then measure the diff from tip of limb to rail on each side. Last set of limbs i had go bad there was 3/4" diff and it was not good on accuracy past 30 yds, gave 2" group at 30 yds usin field pts
Re: String alignment
Your bow is most definitely out of tiller, that is, the string is not square to the rail. This might be the way it left the factory, or one limb could have become weak since it was strung. Bows with 1 weak limb will never shoot the way they should, that's why they match limbs in pairs. Do not draw or shoot your bow, the limb could break at any time, and even if it doesn't, the string will apply more pressure to one side of the arrow than the other and the arrow will fishtail. Get the limbs replaced immediately.
My own bow had 3 sets of limbs go out of tiller, and I kept getting new sets until I contacted Peter and he had me send the whole bow in. They repaired it by replacing everything between stirrup and stock, except for the trigger. Had I sent my whole bow in with the first problem, it would have been repaired right the first time. Have not had a hint of a problem since. When we only send the front end in, I would guess they don't check tiller.
If you place a precision square across your rail, you will see your bow is a long way out of tiller, I can see it in your pic.

Had the same thing on my Equinox, about 5 or 6 months ago, so I called Dan ,he said to send it to him and he would check it out, when he got it he called me and said every thing looked alright to him,?????? so he sent it back to me
to this day it is a little off canter, i'm confused BUT, Dan said,,,,,, so I live with it ,had to adjust scope to compromise.

Not knowing too much learned everything here I know just from person that had bows from 1960 right limb in 2nd picture looks like its up higher than left limb seemed pulled down more like if left limb was weaker than right limb is pulling harder..
What do I know anyhow..

Re: String alignment
Just a thought but if a T-Square was placed on the rail then the string should be at exactly 90 degrees or am I missing something?

Re: String alignment
Received a return email from Peter he personally checked the limbs before they left the facility and were perfect and he asked me to check for cracked limbs and that I could shoot it. No cracked limbs and it shoots 400 fps on the button however I can only shoot 15 yards inside so accuracy I'm not sure about. The bolts seem to hit the target at an angle but it's hard to tell how they will hit at any distance.
So here are pictures of strung and under strung the right side is shorter and has more of a curved limb tip any thoughts?Re: String alignment
Since it's the "off-season" (yes, I know turkey hunting is coming) I would send the entire bow (minus scope) back to Excalibur and ask them to check it over completely, especially if this is a brand new bow.
Do this either directly yourself or the dealer you bought it from.
Excal should make it right and it will be easier if they have the entire bow instead of guessing.
For whatever reason, something clearly looks out of alignment.

Re: String alignment
I your first post you said the head and limbs. I guess you mean the riser and limbs by that. I blew up the pictures and it looks like the riser is not matching up correctly with the barrel. Pull the riser off and reinstall it being careful to match it up and see if that is not causing your problem.

When you get a bunch of advice from strangers, before you try out what is suggested, think about whether what is suggested can hurt you.
I can't see how it would hurt in following Vixenmaster's advice. Swap your limbs right for left. It should tell you whether the limb installation is the problem. The problem might not be with the limbs themselves.
