I had some drill rod turned down to 0.290" and drilled out to slip over the rods of the Cavalier serving tool.
If you don't have the strength in you hands to tighten the nut on the Spigarelli, use a wrench. The piece that you tighten is a hex. I toyed with the idea of drilling out the holes that the pins go through and replacing the pins with a larger rod or a bolt but I found another that works perfectly. See below.
My preference was to use a modified Cavalier. Outerlimits Archery made one similar to the Cavalier that didn't need modifying but they don't make it anymore. I have a few and they are perfect.
