I have a Maxpoint - currently converted to an Exomag Lite (150 lbs). The string and cable on the Maxpoint both needed replacing, so I decided to avoid the hassle and convert it to an Exomag Lite. I still have the Maxpoint limbs.

The Maxpoint is one powerful crossbow. Compared to other compounds, is it rugged, simple, and ingeniously designed (0% letoff) like the other Excalibur products. I found it to be not quite as accurate as the recurve Excaliburs, but with the power it has you're going to be hitting something big, so this is splitting hairs.

About a year back I seen the "Buckmaster Maxpoint" at Cabelas in the states. It looked physically the same as the paradox, just not as visual appealing. I'm not sure which Paradox weight I have, thought there was only one. Both my models were last last year any paradox's was sold threw Excalibur.

accuracy not as good as straight limbs?, lonewolf, doxnut would you buy one for 360.00?, i'm still undecided, i think i sold my patriot to my cousin, so i might as we'll buy both the maxpoint and the exocet 200 its only money, i think at 20-30 yards a deer would'nt have a chance with either, hey doxnut what did you kill with your paradox???? speedball

Lots of paper and foam, plus it has shot a few German wild boars. I would definitly buy a "maxpoint" if the price is right, but I'd pay more to have the excalibur name on it. The Paradox is definilty a collectors peice now........no dollars signs could make me sell them.

Trust me I've been there, not with the Paradox but both times the crossbows had them there WHEELS... So if it really came down to it, I would give up the Paradox before the recurve... Enough of them bad experiences for me...
And thats why I take a back up bow with me but so far its never been needed, for the Paradox or my Martins.

Ya the theory of more moving parts means for possible failures is right. Thats where proper maintence is required, find the problem before you have one. .

Myself, I have been a string and cables builder for 14 years now so building and replacing cables is like changing a tire.

And like DIGGERS said "have a back-up".
