I am nearly extinct, and there is nothing they can do about that!
Why not spend the money where it can benefit the people, instead of trying to save one species of wildlife?
Something is not right with this picture!
My two cents,as usual!!
Bob.
Well Bob, FWIW, saving a species of wildlife DOES benefit people. Or would you rather build a parking lot in the desert or study the sweat of aborigines (both US Govt funded projects). You're thinking of the Ca. govt. We do it different down here. It (protecting the IBWP) would be 10 mil extremely well spent, IMO.

Ivory Billed Woodpecker

Greg, don't misunderstand where I am coming from,as I am for conservation too.
I just find it hard to believe that ONE sighting of a supposedly extinct bird would lead to suggestions that $10 million dollars be set aside to try and retore their natural habitat.
Just look at development in every major city, and what we are doing all around us!
Pretty soon, the only wildlife we will be seeing will be on film!
Somewhere, somehow, all this population growth has to end,or else our children will never even enjoy what we have today!
That's another four cents worth!!LOL!!
