i went to the hospital sunday, 3 hour drive....she is off the meds for the bacterial menigitis she had....she had a tric tube put in to get her off the breathing machine and is breathing on her own for now through her tric tube....she is down to 31 % oxyg she is breathing with now that is warmed and high humidity through a tube that is just next to her tric tube but not attached to it....if things go good as she is now she will be moved to her own room just outside of the ped I.C.U. unit....if no set backs then bout 1/2 weeks she will be moved to rehab cause of being in bed since nov 5th....i was lucky she was awake when i went in to see her but was sleeping when everyone else got back from the giftshop when they went in....she kinda looked at me when i was talking to her but her eyes were kinda rolling back and forth, not sure if that's from coming off the seditives or what....her MRI of her brain looks good....will post when i hear of any changes....

ray....my daughter really liked the prayer you sent me in a PM....i printed it out with a row of hearts border around the saying....i also told her mother i made a thread in 5/6 forums i go to where i got over 200 replies....once again thx all

Bob, it just breaks my heart to see a young one with medical problems. I have five grandchildren and four of those are little girls so I share your plight.

I think I know the impact this must have on you. I know what it would do to me.

With so many good people here sending prayers and well wishes, well plain and simple, it just has to help.

Stay strong and keep us posted.

talked to kimmie last night bout abigail, she was moved from ICU to her own room tuesday....she had a new tric tube put in so they can hold her now, they haven't been able to do that since nov 5th before she was brought to the hospital....she had to have a shunt put in to keep fluids from accumilating around her brain after she started to look cross eyed, did a spinal tap to drain some off but it still built up....good news is they put 3.9 feet of tube in going to her stomach so as she grows she won't need any other surgery....doc's said she could grow to over 6 ft with needing any adjustment to the tube....poor little girl is going through a lot, but the good thing she won't remember much of this....when i find out more i'll post it up, thx everyone

just got a call from my oldest daughter tabitha who talked to kimmie that abigail is coming home sometime this week, maybe tommorrow....they are going to have the assitance of a nurse 16 hours a day for awhile....broken up beteen two shifts one 11pm to 7am so they have someone there over night so they can get some much needed sleep....the rest of the hours will be during the day so she can finish school and go to work....thank you all for the thoughts and prayers that you have sent

Glad to hear she is improving.
Meningitis is one of those diseases that really scares me. Very serious ailment that seems to constantly mutate or evolve to resist treatment.
Prayers will continue!!!!!!!!!!!!
