isnt that the idea :P let the small bucks walk so they grow

ive got no issues with shooting doe, but last year quite a few small bucks were shot to be entered as doe. Thats a waste of the deer for a contest

Rules should never effect how people hunt
Neither should a contest!

I think I'll just go for the photo contest this year. This one is seeming to get too competitive before it even starts. Sorry to sound sour but just how I see it.

I just dunno why everyone is getting so sour over this?? Lets just not even do a deer contest which doesnt bother me any. If someone else wants to head something up thats fine. Im just not going to put time into this with a webpage and all when some are going to grip over rules.

again, if someone else wants to do one thats fine. Maybe they can use the old rules. The only thing I wanted to try and do was make the contest equal for all but I see that isnt working :? If someone else wants to step up and take over than so be it. Im out

WAIT!.....Please don't go.....I don't care WHAT the rules are,

I just want to talk some trash and think about "what if" while I'm hunting.

And, And, And, I like being on a deer contest team.

And what are we going to do with our new name????

YOU know how to do this. Please run the contest.

x3 Its just for fun I understand you were trying to be fair. Im going to hunt the same way i always did. And dont care what the rules are. By you trying to make it fair tells me you are. So just do what you think is wright.
Thats just my 2 cents

CF I'll help in any way I'M capable, not computer whiz, it' to far in this to quit, the rules stand except for buck as a doe, and it don't matter how many are on a team just as long as the number of deer add up, just my input.

Since you used the term that I used I'll more explain my "opinion".
This started as a fun "deer contest". Now I am more interpretting this as gearing towards a "big buck" contest. I hunt for deer and if a big buck happens to be in front of me all the better. But most of the properties that I hunt are not big buck areas. If I want to shoot a deer that someone else thinks I should let walk because its not a "shooter" I will shoot it if thats what I feel like at that time. I'm not saying that deer management doesn't have its place. But I mainly hunt public land where that is not the norm. With my earlier post of not wishing to participate in this contest was my choice not to enter. I did not ask for any changes to be made to meet my criteria. I can choose to participate or not and I know that is my choice.

yeah keep the same rules but use the one buck one doe only per man with points and spread, but no buck as a doe rule is gone....that way the states with only one buck/one doe only can compete fair as well....ok rules are set now, lol..................bob

GP, didnt mean to use you as an example. I think most of use her hunt somewhat public lands though. I know all the farms I hunt are open to dog hunters which normally blow the woods out. Another reason if a decent buck walks by, you kinda have to shoot.

But it wasnt your comment. Ive gotten a few PM's(nothing harsh in that matter) about why I'm doing this and that. Bottom line, I wanted everyone to have fun and have equal grounds to start on. But its becoming to much of a hassle. If someone else wants to pick it up, ill help in any way I can.

Publish your rules and if people want in or out it is their choice.

I don't have any problems with any rule. I'll hunt and kill (hopefully) what I want and if he/she gets points in a contest great.. If not that's OK too.

Gripe session shoudl be over.. publish your rules and let's go..
