:) This year and last have used the X-ACTS and can say without a doubt . These bh`s are devastating on a deer with the longest recovery being 50 yards . Vix`s or Close-up can testify to the blood trail .

Hey all. Have read on the forum but never posted. I have a Vortex and use Firebolts. Is it necessary to add brass inserts to shoot a 100 grain spitfire? Anybody use that combo and what were your results? Thanks

What exactly happened there vixenmaster? It looks like the broadhead glanced off the deer leaving a huge wound but not penetrating thru the deer?
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

Not necessary at all. Quite a few folks shoot them I've take a few deer with them as well. They are very accurate and durable broadhead. Many folks swear by them. I had one open prematurely out of my ExoMax that caused a poor hit. Maybe a blade bumped something and wasn't fully closed. If I tried them again, I would get the new crossbow version.

Back on topic, I've used a half dozen heads over the past five seasons. I've had good luck with NAP Scorpion XP and later moved to new Rocket Sidewinders. Not the old version, but the new shiny gold version. It offers the same 1.5" cut but is a stronger head with a longer chisel tip to rule out any chance of deflection on angled shots. It shoots great out of my crossbow and compound. Its also much cheaper than many mechanical heads. I've picked up a number of packs for under $25.

hey guys i have read the posts on the broadheads , for you guys who shoot any rocket mech. broadhead do you have to double band the blades? i am shooting the equinox with the fire bolt and 2" zenon vane. i have a whole load of the sidewinder heads and wondered if the launch speed and force of x bow will coz a premature opening of a banded broadhead?

The small Buck came in from my left before i could get my hoist cord off my E'cet 200. He got out about passed my comfort range in these thick woods. I aimed behind his upper right shoulder blade & let him have it. I watch him go out of sight & i hunted another 45 min or so. Will short of it was meat seeker skipped instead of going down in as i was 25' in the tree. I ended up jumping him up shot him running with a slick trick mag 100 gr & that ended his growing season!
