I did the gas thing too, bare face, got caught breathing thru my 'T' shirt, got a 'A' for ingenuity and another trip thru gas haus, lol.

It's always great to get home, welcome back!! Sounds like Basic Training has'nt changed in 40 years. I remember my visit to the gas shack inSeptember, 1971, it's something you won't forget. After the gagging, puking, and burning eyes, we got gassed on the 2 mile march back to the company area to see what we had learned about getting your mask on quickly and correctly. The day after the gassing, the blistered skin on backs of hands and neck started peeling. Dang, I miss that!!! All this fun was on "Tank Hill" at Fort Jackson, SC.
