lungbuster - Thanks for the suggestion but I'm blessed to live in an area with a lot of good trees for using a climber so i think that's the direction I'm going with.

We talked about this at the start of last season but i wanted to bring it back up ..and probly will again at the start of this years season..
I had bought a HSS vest and spent some time testing it..
It was worth the time and im glad i worked out some ways to rescue myself in the event of a fall.
My hope is that everyone who uses a tree stand spends some time testing their harness..dangling 20-40 ft in the air is not the place to wonder ..Now What?

strum - Thank you very much for that advice, I will indeed give it a try, as many times as it takes to get it right, before the season starts. Hope everyone else does the same.

i had been using a harness for 12-15 years and had never tried it..( it was the kind with no leg straps just waist and shoulder)
when i was testing the HSS i gave the old harness a try..
to my shock i found that if i had ever fell i would be dead in about 2 min.. it cut off all my air and had i not been close to the ground with help i would not have got back on my stand..needless to say ill never use it again..
