One of the best feeds out there is pumpkins.
Real cheap after halloween, just scrounge them at the curb.
Deer and lots of other critters just love them.
They will also last longer on the bait pile than other fruit without rotting.
I only bait with corn late in the season. Much cheaper that way.

I've found that cabbage works great Only the deer will eat it. It is really cheap when bought directly from the grower. $35.00 for all you can get in a pick-up/ Whack the heads in quarters Two heads will last several days

Pumpkins are good also, takes a while to get the deer eating it. After halloween they are sold at give away prices
You sure you can skin griz, pilgrim??

Holy crap..........that's 7,000 pounds of corn. There is no way I would spend 1,400.00 dollars on corn alone.

I run 10 feeders almost year round. Each feeder holds 350 lbs of corn. Deer and turkey hunting is my obsession. Guess you could say that I was an addict. Nothing else to spend my money on so I make sure my animals have plenty to eat.

I've got a decent little 7 p on my office wall that came from Stewart Co. Big to me but some of the guys there didn't think it was very big. They seemed a little anal about how big a deer needed to be before you were supposed to shoot it. To each his own, its all good. My friend that invited me up there didn't get invited back to the lease the next year and I wondered if it was because of my 7 p. That is some great deer country around there though. :)

rayman,
been hunting on the same piece of land in Stewart Co. since 99. I am at the stage in my hunting career that permits me to let a lot of deer walk.I shoot a couple does for the freezer then try to sit back and hunt the best bucks on my piece of ground.Stewart County not really known for huge bucks,as compared to other Georgia Counties but there are several quality bucks killed every year in this area.Feel free to visit my FB page and view my photo's . Pretty sure anybody can view my site(DENNIS ARCHAMBAULT,Dover,FL)

My land owners do not want me to feed at all but relent for late season. I have to respect their wishes.
Also some of the property I hunt it is not exclusive to me but I end up the last one hunting the late season.
I do look forward to the day hunting will take up more of my time.

pumpkins are good feed in my area as long as there are not any hard freezes which often happens around here even before holloween, if the pumpkins freeze they turn to mush and are useless

First bag (50#) I bought in July was $9.50, last week it was up to $10.50.

Looks like it might not go to waste, though.
