DaveShooter, I totally agree! I told them that I would rather they get one than me and they said that didn't make any sense. I told them that when they have kids of their own that all the goofy things that I say to them will be understood.
Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it

That just made me a little misty-eyed! So true, isn't it! :D Congrats again and thanks for sharing your joy with the rest of us. Nothing better than seeing the next generation take up the hunt!

dumb question, but is red deer a nice deer to eat?
ive heard only the fallow is good eating?
