Re: Bigredopie Build along
Next I am routing out the flute cut on the stock. First pic is the setup.
Next pic is the groove. Sort of neat is the router bit burns on the hard grain and cuts the soft. Or I need a new bit.
Cold is stuck in my chest. Got to be careful in the shop with this codeine. Gives you a buzz.
Bill/W, McGuire, is sending me a really nifty portable sanding tool to try out. I am a huge fan of anything tools so this should be fun. CANNOT have enough tools. Thanks Bill, it should be interesting.
Next I am going to rough draw out the lines of the finish stock and cut off the excess, and then drill my center reference holes.

First pic is of the stock with the excess cut off;
Second pic is of the center guide holes that I drill to keep aware of the center as I carve it down;
Next is to get out the hand grinder with a nasty cutting disk on it to take off a lot of unneeded wood.

Cannot use that nasty wheel to long so to smooth it out I use this;
Have a pattern to lay out the side rail front end;
The groove I locate right on top of the rounded pattern.
