Air-Brakes Review
Re: Air-Brakes Review
I just installed my ABs last night and shot it today. I did not notice any reduction in noise. But it did eliminate the aluminum twang sound.

For some who may be newer to Excals. the stirrup has also been determined to contribute to the " Metalic Twang" sound.... wrapping it with tennis racket handle wrap which is carried by wallmart will also change the sound for the better.
I take my stirrup off and wrap the entire thing overlapping slightly as I apply.. I then cover this with camo duct tape also available from wallmart in the same fashion. This tape usually needs to be split length wise with a sharp knife to reduce it's width and make it go on better.
Then simply open the area where each screw goes thru and thread them thru until they start to protrude and then appy it back on the rail....
Try It, You May Like It.

Here is a wrapped stirrup : adhesive 1" rubber strip wrapped all around, 1 oz wheel wts near the bend on each side, plastic/cloth backed camo tape all around and zip ties. This is quiet! It's just being held for the picture since I have an equally quiet but more efficient DrStirrup stirrup. Again, this is a Boo inspired modification.
The DrStirrup string bumpers and double shrink wrapped and slightly bent upwards arrow retention spring also helped noise.
I can't help but think that the ABs help take some of the post release stress off the limbs.
