So you can use the power ring and set it the same way?
Does this scope have yardage increments on the reticle?
Matrix 405 Mega, Hawke XB30 SR Pro
trigger tech, Dr Stirrup ' Tac Pac
BEE 20" 429gr. NAP spitfires 100gr. Ignitors
BD400 XB30 SR PRO DR. Stirrup.
New 420TD Assassin
Yes come with yardage increment on the reticule.
For me i shoot in 3d with center point +tactical turet adjustment with number reference to each yardage increment.

Thanks.
Correct, this scope does NOT have a speed dial. It's got variable power magnification but it uses minutes of angle for yardage. The turrets give you MOA adjustments and the hash marks in the scope hav an MOA value that changes according to the magnification setting. Adjusting the power magnification will not move the hash marks closer together or further apart.

When you move the scope power is same thing of speed dial !!!
You change power you change gap between each mark dot!!!
''Adjusting the power magnification will not move the hash marks closer together or further apart. ''(Wrong info!!)

Wrong info entirely, this scope has no yardage markers, they are Minute of Angle references on reticule. Huge difference, MOA is not the same as yards. This is a fantastic scope but you need to read instructions 4-5 times and get any thought of yardage out of your head or it will do you in for sure. You can indeed cross reference a number with yardage once you work it out.

You're completely mistaken. Wrong! What you're saying is true of all the Excalibur brand scopes and other scopes not using MOA or MRADS. I assure you that the Vortex Viper XB-R 1MOA crossbow scope is unlike any of the scopes offered by Excalibur. The variable power magnification only adjusts the power setting between 2.5x - 10x. Here's the thing, the top target turret remains 1 MOA regardless of magnification power setting. The hash marks in the scope, what you see when you look through it, are in 5 MOA intervals up to 50 MOA if on 10x magnification. If you're on 5x magnification the value of MOA for each hash mark doubles to 10 MOA. Likewise, if you're on 2.5x magnification the value of each hash mark quadruples to 20 MOA. You don't adjust for yardage like you would on a TacZone or even a Luepold VX-R 3-9X40 or Crossbones.....and I see no need for the !!!!!!!.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Vortex XBR a Front Focal Plane reticle? versus every other crossbow specific scope that has the reticle in the Rear Focal Plane? Maybe this is where Ben911!!! is mistaken?

Ben is definately wrong in what he's thinking.
The XB-R is actually a second focal plane scope. You can always tell the difference between first and second focal plane scopes because with ffp scopes, as you increase magnification everything in the scope appears larger. Sfp scopes the reticle appears larger as you increase magnification.....or vice versa.

Great deal Paul, thanks. Here is my set up. As you can see the scope and mounts are as far ahead as they will go (same as Brian's). While I do have good eye relief, I think I will look into the offset rings. I am not comfortable with 0 adjustment available. Unfortunately, it looks like Canada Post may put a damper on the ordering of new rings in the short term.
